International Data Transfers
As an export-oriented manufacturer, Janata Sadat routinely shares business data with international freight forwarders, customs brokers, banks (for letters of credit), and trade inspection agencies in the course of fulfilling export orders.
Where data is transferred outside Bangladesh to countries within the European Economic Area (EEA), such transfers are conducted under one or more of the following safeguards:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission (GDPR Article 46(2)(c));
- Adequacy decisions issued by the European Commission for the recipient country;
- Explicit consent of the data subject where no other lawful mechanism applies.
Third-party recipients are contractually required to process data solely for the agreed purpose, implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures, and not further transfer data without our written authorisation.
Data Retention
We retain personal and business data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required by law:
- Inquiry & Pre-Contract Data: Retained for 3 years from the date of last contact, unless converted to an active trade relationship.
- Confirmed Order & Export Records: Retained for a minimum of 7 years in compliance with Bangladeshi Income Tax Ordinance 1984 and Companies Act 1994.
- Analytics Data: Anonymised and aggregated; retained indefinitely in aggregate form. Raw session data deleted after 14 months.
- Email Correspondence: Retained for 5 years or the duration of the trade relationship, whichever is longer.
Upon expiry of the applicable retention period, data is securely deleted or anonymised so it can no longer be linked to an individual or business entity.
